Here’s a step-by-step guide to setting up shortcuts on your KUMI Ring, including how you can quickly open ChatGPT or even activate its voice chat function.
Step 1: Pair and Connect Your KUMI Ring
Before you begin, make sure your Ring is paired and connected to your phone through the KUMI Ring app.
Step 2: Select the "Short Video" Option
1. Open the KUMI Ring app.
2. Navigate to the Me page.
3. Under Smart Touch Application, select the Short Video option.
This action will prepare your ring to accept customized shortcut commands.
Step 3: Create a Shortcut to Open ChatGPT
Next, you’ll need to set up the shortcuts app on your phone:
- Open your Shortcuts app on IOS or TaskMaster on Android.
- Create a new shortcut that opens the ChatGPT app.
- (Optional) You can even go one step further and have the shortcut immediately activate voice chat within ChatGPT for an even faster experience.
Step 4: Enable AssistiveTouch and Customize the Ring's Commands
Now it's time to link your shortcut to your ring:
1. Open your phone’s Settings app.
2. Navigate to Accessibility.
3. Select Touch.
4. Turn on AssistiveTouch.
5. Under AssistiveTouch, tap Devices.
6. Select KUMI Ring H1.
7. Choose Customize Additional Buttons.
At this point, hold the touch area on your ring for a few seconds — this will open a menu of available gestures and commands.
Step 5: Assign Your ChatGPT Shortcut
- Scroll all the way down to the Shortcuts section.
- Find and select the ChatGPT shortcut you created earlier.

How to Change It Back
Want to return to the default Short Video function?
Simply revisit Customize Additional Buttons in your Accessibility settings and remove the shortcut function. Your Ring H1 will instantly go back to controlling short videos with a touch or swipe.
